Petty criminal Zara Cole has a painful past that’s made her stronger than most, which is why she chose life in New Detroit instead moving with her family to Mars. In her eyes, living inside a dome isn’t much better than a prison cell.

Still, when Zara commits a crime that has her running scared, jail might be exactly where she’s headed. Instead Zara is recruited into the Honors, an elite team of humans selected by the Leviathan—a race of sentient alien ships—to explore the outer reaches of the universe as their passengers.

Zara seizes the chance to flee Earth’s dangers, but when she meets Nadim, the alien ship she’s assigned, Zara starts to feel at home for the first time. But nothing could have prepared her for the dark, ominous truths that lurk behind the alluring glitter of starlight.

Usually, I am not a book Sci Fi fan – I prefer my Sci Fi on TV – but with Ann Aguirre & Rachel Caine writing I could not pass this up.  For one, their heroines kick ass, literally & figuratively.

Zara a known antisocial criminal and rule breaker is running scared and got herself selected to the Honors program on the alien Leviathans ship.  But once she is safe on the living ship, Nadim( think Moya from Farscape); she is expected to listen and abide by rules – and that just isn’t who Zara is… she is feisty, and asks a lot of questions. She isn’t ready to follow along blindly.

If you are a fan of Ann and Rachel – you already know this is action packed and fast paced. I however, wasn’t expecting how in depth the world and story building would be – if was very easy to immerse yourself into their world, to be with  Zara and Bea(another human selected for the Honors program) on Nadim. I tend not to read Sci Fi because I cannot picture the “world” around them, but I did not have that issue with Honor Among Thieves.

Fierce, Feisty and Fantastic cannot wait to join the next adventure.
