Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.

Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Two girls. One boy. Three voices that burst onto the page in short, sharp, bewitching chapters, and spiral swiftly and inexorably toward something terrible or tricky or tremendous.

What really happened?
Someone knows.
Someone is lying.

Magically unique! Honestly that is about the only thing I can think to say about this wonderful, one of a kind “fairy tale”.  Three fantastic narrators, each with their own agenda, telling us the same, yet a completely inconsistent twisted story.

Wink Poppy Midnight gets its name from the three narrators –  Wink the fiery head strong older sister to a gaggle of siblings, Poppy the beautifully misunderstood “mean girl” and of course the handsome and mysterious Midnight.  I guess you could say this is Midnight’s story… after his father moves him in next door to the town “outcast”, Wink’s family; his life takes a bit of a dark and twisted turn. Woven together to give you a mind $#%@, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure what is true, who is lying and basically WTF is going on.

If you like a good mind game this is definitely a book you will enjoy. Heck, I am still trying to figure it out.
