Angel, hero, monster, devil–we all become what we really are. I Am Wolf –The journey of a boy about to become a man who inherits his ancestors gift and must learn the right way to use it. He falls in love with Alaynee and begins to feel like he is normal again. When their world is shattered by the kidnapping of Alaynee’s little brother, Jonah breaks the cardinal rule of his gift and bites the kidnapper, creating a creature called the unnatural. This sends him and all his friends on an adventure across the states to a place in Tennessee. There they find not only must they stop the unnatural creature, but they must save Cara–the girl the creature is after. Jonah must ask himself the most important question of all, would you sacrifice yourself to save another?

Jonah’s whole world is turning upside down. His parents are sending him to live with his grandparents. He does not want to leave, begs his parents to stay, but is still shipped off. He is scared that the reason for this is his parents getting a divorce.
Jonah realizes that he is fitting in better that he thought. Childhood friends that he knew before his family moved to the city, has welcomed him back with open arms. For once in his life, Jonah feels like he is fitting in and very happy. He learns soon in the book the history of his ancestors, and what he really is He is quite relieved that he is not going crazy. However, on the first night of his change to wolf, his friends forget to tell him the most sacred rule…Never bite another human. Because of this mistake, he has created an Unnatural while trying to protect Alaynee and her brother from an insane evil man.
With the help and guidance of the Elders, the young pack searches for the Unnatural. The darkness is closing in on Jonah, and he sees all the destruction the Unnatural has caused. With the link that ties them together, Jonah discovers where the Unnatural is heading and they rush to make it there in time, to save Cara.
I love the history of the ancestors in this story. You learn the reasoning why the pack was formed. The Unnatural’s destruction is quite intense. The unity of the tribe with the elders and the young pack is completely breathtaking. I thought the overall story was completely amazing.
