Stupid Fast Blog Tour Stop – This or That with author Geoff Herbach & Giveaway

We are excited to bring you a little this or that Q&A from the author of Stupid Fast Geoff Herbach. You can learn more about Stupid Fast by following the blog tour.

Oh, man, NFC! I’m a Wisconsin kid, so I grew up in the middle of NFC North territory. I love the Packers. I actually went through almost a full year early in elementary school wearing the same pair of Green Bay Packer underpants every day. My mom completely freaked when she figured out what I’d been doing (having her wash clean pairs of underpants while never removing the grundy lucky ones — gross, even for a seven-year-old!).

Hotwings or Chips & Dip?
I like both, but I am totally unable to stop eating chips and dip. Watching TV or movies, I will sometimes go through a whole bag of chips (with salsa or queso, usually) without knowing it, until I’m half dead on the couch. This is also gross.

Small town or City?
Hard question! I almost moved to New York City a couple of years ago, because I love it there. Now I’m a professor in a smallish town in southern Minnesota and I really love it here, too. One thing that’s cool about a small town: I am in a writers’ group with people ranging in age from 23-70. You actually hang out with different kinds of people, because there aren’t throngs of people who are just like you in a small town. When I’ve lived in cities, I’ve spent all my time with people who are my age, my education, share only my interests. I think I really like little towns (of course, this one is a college town, so there are lots of interesting things going on). I grew up in a small town, too, which I totally hated. At the time. We drove in circles all night long looking for something to do.

Past or Future?
I’m a future man. The past makes me sort of sad (even good memories, because they fade).

Ice cream or Cake?
Hmm… flavor dependent. I think, if I had to make a choice (never have one for the rest of time), I’d choose ice cream, but it better have some cookie dough or brownie chunks in it. It’s like getting awesome cake in your ice cream.

Plane or Train?
I love flying. If I lived in Europe, I might choose the train — I’ve had some excellent times training around there. Every night in Mankato (where I live), freight trains roll through and blow their freaking horns for no apparent reason, and I wake up and hate trains. Yes, I choose planes.

Nook or Kindle?
I’d like either. Somebody should give me one. Will you buy me a Nook or Kindle? I am jealous of people who have them. Especially now, because I’m moving into this log cabin and I have to move 10,000 books. If I had a Nook or Kindle, I wouldn’t be dreading this move.

Contemporary or Paranormal?
This is the truth: I love great stories. If it’s ghosts or football players or punk bands or zombies or detectives or mean girls or screaming alien chickens or fluffy killer squirrels, or whatever, if the story is good, I will love it.

Revising Snack or Music?
I don’t really eat much when I write (I chew a lot of gum). I do use music to get my mood right for different scenes.

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. I love it so much, I drink it late at night and then I can’t sleep, so I have to drink more coffee the next day because I’m so tired, and then I can’t sleep again, because I’ve had so much coffee. I really love coffee.

  4. Fun interview–I've totally been on that coffee roller coaster before, you're tired, so you drink coffee. Then you can't sleep. When you drag your butt out of bed the next morning, you're exhausted, so…more coffee. A never-ending cycle!

Looking forward to reading Stupid Fast, I've heard great things!

  6. I really loved all the questions! I agree with Geoff, I am not a genre person. I love good stories. If the premise is intriguing I'll pick it up.
