The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa is one of our favorite series ever, and Iron Queen (out in Feb. 2011) was one of Stacey’s top 5 reads of 2010. This is a series full of heart, action and a one of the best cats ever (if we weren’t Team Puck, we’d be Team Grim)!
We hope you enjoy learning a little more about Ash and Meghan and check out our interviews with Grim and Puck that we did earlier in the year!
What has been your favorite part about finding out you’re part fey?
Discovering I’m part fey has been one disaster after another, what with the war and the Iron Fey and Queen Mab and everything. I guess…finding my human dad was been the best part. And Ash. I’d be lying if I said Ash wasn’t the reason I don’t mind being half-fey.
What are your favorite things about Grim, Ash and Puck?
Grim is completely infuriating, but he does try to help, and he always has all the answers. Puck can always make me laugh; he’s always been there for me. And Ash…well, Ash is just Ash.
This has been a crazy year for you – what do you miss most about your old life?
What DON’T I miss about it? I miss my family and my dog and my old room and my school. I miss being able to watch T.V. or listen to my ipod without some faery freaking out. I miss being able to walk from one point to the next without something trying to kill/kidnap/eat me. I guess I miss being human a lot more then I thought I would.
Now that you know what you are, have your hopes and dreams for the future changed?
It’s hard to think about that. I hope not. I’d like to think that when this is all over, I can go home and back to school and to collage someday. I don’t know, though. I guess I’ll have to see what happens.
What has been your happiest moment in the Never Never?
There are several, but the one that stands out in my mind was when Puck came back after I thought he was dead. That, and getting Ethan home safe and sound.
You have been described as Tall, Dark and Broody, do you think this is an accurate description of yourself?
I suppose to the Short, Loud, and Inane that would be an accurate description.
What are your 3 favorite things about Julie?
Meghan, Swords, and magic, in that order.
If you could have any 2 people with you in fight, who would you want watching your back?
If you’re talking about skill, I would have to say Puck and Sage. If you’re talking about trustworthiness, I would have to say Meghan, and maybe Ironhorse.
If you could go on a vacation and get away from it all, where would you go and who would you take with you?
I’d have to take someone with me? My favorite get-away spots are not that comfortable for humans, if you’re talking about Meghan. The Arctic Circle isn’t exactly a prime vacation spot for mortals.
If Meghan and I were going away, I’d let her pick the spot.
So there’s a rumor going around the Internet that your food of choice is human babies – can you please clarify this for us, is this true, and if not what is your favorite food?
*Frowns* I have never once eaten a human baby, and I don’t think I could stomach it if I tried. *Sighs* If its really that important, I do have a liking for mint-chocolate ice cream, though if that ever gets back to Puck I may have to kill you. (~ Scroll over to find out Ash’s favorite food – we’re trying to keep it from Puck, dieing at the hands of Ash could be very cold and painful, not fun, and I’m not sure we could get Meghan to stop him…So Puck, if you’re reading this PLEASE don’t scroll over! ~Thanks, Stacey & Pixie)
We know that Fey have to be remembered to stay strong and live eternally, what do you want us to remember about you? What do you want to live on in the tales of Ash?
*Snorts* It’ll be a Tragedy, most likely. The proud Winter prince who falls for the half-human daughter of his ancient rival. Meghan doesn’t know it, but most faery tales rarely see a Happily Ever After. However this turns out, I hope I act with honor and courage, and that Meghan will be happy in the end, even if I fall.
